As you probably know, vertical slotting machine is designed for slotting of various shaped channels on flat and shaped surfaces. It is used in the manufacture of cast iron, steel and non-ferrous metals. It also may be used in steel rolling mills, power plants, ship building, textile factories, tool rooms, and repair shops. This equipment is used mainly for small-scale production but may be used in serial production as well. There are a wide range of vertical slotting machines, which are different according to their technical parameters or measurements. But which machine will be the best choice for you?

In this article we will compare three vertical slotting machines and will make the decision which one is the best to buy among others. Our first device is vertical slotting machine of Italian manufacturer CABE 200 ST (Foto 1). This company produces precise and reliable machines of high qualities and our machine is not the exception. As for another two vertical slotting machines, they were produced by USSR (now Russian) well-known manufacturer STANKOIMPORT. The model of first is 7 M 450 and the model of second is 7 A 420 (Foto 2). Let consider the technical parameters of these devices. First of all we are going to compare the maximum length of the slider stroke. CABE 200 ST has maximum length of the slider stroke of 7.9 inches, the quantities of these technical parameters of STANKOIMPORT 7 M 450 and 7 A 420 are equal to 19.7 inches and 7.8 inches respectively. All these machines are equipped with round rotary tables. The diameter of the table of the machine of Italian producer is equal to 9.8 inches, machines of USSR manufacturer have table diameter of 31.5 inches of 7M450 model and 19.7 inches of 7 A 420 model. Another important thing is number of strokes that are performed by slider. This parameter is also different in our three devices. CABE 200 ST can perform from 30 to 90 strokes per minute. Minimum number of slider strokes per minute of 7M450 is equal to 5 and maximum number of slider strokes per minute is equal to 34. 7A420 has range of strokes of slider per minute, which variables from 40 up to 163. The measurements and weight of the machines are different, the Italian machine has a little bit smaller size and weight in compare to machines manufactured in USSR, which has a quite similar measurements and as a consequence similar weight. All represented vertical slotting machines are in a good condition but they have different age. CABE 200 ST is the newest among them and it was manufactured in 1997. STANKOIMPORT 7M450 was produced in 1987 and STANKOIMPORT 7A420, which is the oldest among our three devices and is already 40 years old, was designed in 1975. So, to conclude all the above information, we can say, that if you like USSR machines, which are quite old, especially the second one, but are produced with high quality materials, you can chose one of the STANKOIMPORT’s devices with model 7 M 450 or 7 A 420. However 7 A 420 is equipped with lighting that can make dealing with this vertical slotting machine more comfortable, especially in bad lighting rooms. The main advantages to buy vertical slotting machine CABE 200 ST is its quite small age as well as their equipment, which is represented by central lubrication, liquid cooling system and also lighting.
